Sometimes I forget how fascinating the changing of seasons can be. It really is remarkable how we can go from +40C to -40C in a matter of a few weeks. I can get a little bit down about this but I think that seeing the excitement through the eyes of a child reminds us that the turning of the leaves is not a sign of doom and gloom but fun snow days and outdoor adventure.
Don’t believe me? Watch this and see if it doesn’t give you a little shiver of excitement:
Fun, right? And I bet even the hardest winter hater had a little bit of a smile!
The key to enjoying winter (besides a positive attitude) is dressing warmly and dressing appropriately. Anyone will tell you that our winters demand layers, quality clothing and warmth. I’ve worn Kombi for years (they make the best ski mitts – these are my fave) and I was lucky to be able to dress up my son in their warm & high quality clothing.
Kombi is a Montreal-based company, so they get our winters. We need warm.
We need mitts for our kids with a zip up the side (really – check it out) & red thumb guidance for easy thumb access (and an extra pair when the first gets lost). We need thick, lined headwear in cool colours (I love the one my son wears) that our kids are going to want to wear. And we definitely need snuggly fleece long underwear for cozy outdoor fun.
It will keep your kids and yourself comfy on even the harshest days.
