Lemeac is a wonderful fine dining restaurant in Outremont offering bistro classics.  They are a pretty fail safe bet, but make sure to make reservations as they are often full.

Excellent

Lemeac has been around for the last ten years, and is a well established Outremont favourite.  It is in fact my fall back restaurant as you know the service will always be good and the menu is varied enough that there will always be something to suit.

The restaurant is beautifully designed and buzzing with everyone from young professionals to grandma and grandpa out with the family.  The design screams class with large windows, lots of wood, and good lighting.

The food is all pretty good but one of the standouts for me is the smoked salmon which is done in their own smokers.  It’s a rather large portion (and at $15 you’d hope it would be) and really is fantastic.  They also have excellent frites, which they provide in generous portions.  The wine list, as you would imagine for a bistro in Outremont, is extensive.

You get the feeling that this is the type of place where friends and family are eating on a regular basis and there is a general ambiance that everyone kind of feels like they belong their.  It’s a comfortable restaurant, and it offers comforting food.  It’s like an old friend you can fall back on again and again.

Decor: Classy and elegant.
Service: Spot on.  They also have a menu in English which is a nice touch.
Price: Listen, it isn’t cheap but this is a fancy bistro in Outremont.  It’s what you would expect.  Average starting is around $12 and average main is around an average of $25 but it ranges from $18 – $38.  They do have a special menu for after 10:00 where an entree and main are $24 if you can wait until that time of night.
Food: It’s always great.  I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal there (and I’ve eaten there alot!)
Good For: A classy night out with friends, or an inter-generational meal with the family.
