There is a new gin on the market and it’s from right here in Quebec!  This gin comes from a group of friends who call themselves The Subversives Distillers.  They are from Montreal and have put their knowledge from skills learned in California and New York to create a truly unique home grown product.  Their distillery is located in the Lower-Richelieu Valley, and their gin is distilled slowly in small batches using hand-made 350 litre pots.

The gin itself uses traditional London Dry Gin botanicals such as juniper berries, coriander, angelica root, lemon peel and cardamom.  It also uses… Parsnip!  This allows for a delicate bitterness and subtle floral aroma.

The gin will only be available by the case and through private orders starting mid-December.  It will be available in-store late February.

To make a private order, complete the order form on the Piger Henricus Gin website.  The SAQ will contact you once the  order is received, and will advise you at which SAQ store you can make payment.
Price by the case is a little less than $180 for a case of 6 bottles x 500ml, 43% alc/vol.
You may also fill out the information request form and they will contact you when the product becomes available in mid-December.
London… eat your heart out!
Follow them!
Disclosure: One of the group of friends is a member of my extended family!  Can’t wait for Christmas!
