Food Truck Season is upon us… now it’s just the crazy task of trying to track them down!

Here are a few tips:

Websites:

The Food Truck Association (Association des Restaurateurs de Rue du Québec) has a website which has a great calendar.  This was nearly always the way I found my food trucks last year. They also have a complete listing of all the food trucks found here.

Ville-Marie (Downtown Montreal) has a calendar which I also found very useful last year.

Montreal Food Trucks is a Facebook Page that promises up to date info.  Their mission is ‘to encourage and to promote the successful operation of the Montreal Food Truck Ventures’.

Montreal Food Trucks is also a website that looks very up to date and complete.  It seems to combine all the different calendars into one spot with daily listings – so a great place to go.

Twitter:

Many of the trucks have websites, Facebook and/or Twitter.  Follow me on my Twitter account and check out the Twitter list called Food Trucks Montreal.  Along with food trucks there are also a couple of other relevant twitter accounts for finding the trucks.

Apps:

StreetFood Quest Mtl has an app which shows where the trucks are located.  I found it didn’t work perfectly last year, so let’s hope it’s been perfected this year.

I was a wee bit confused about the site so asked them a few questions:

Arrow Colours:

Orange – ‘To go’ restaurants that are open

Red – Food Trucks that are open

Grey – Food trucks that are in place at their next location but not yet open.

It is the truck owners responsibility to update their location which is why some trucks may not be listed (the app manager also tries to update it).

Try Your Luck:

Check out this Google Map for the location of some of the trucks.

In the Ville Marie Area the food trucks can be found daily here (via CTV):

  • Cité du multimédia (De la Commune West at Brennan St. )
  • McCord Museum (Victoria St. north of President Kennedy)
  • Hector Toe Blake Park (Sussex north of Rene Levesque Blvd.)
  • Médéric Martin Park (Rouen near Du Havre)
  • Place d’Armes (Saint Jacques at Saint François Xavier)
  • Quartier de la santé (Saint Denis south of Viger Ave.)
  • City Councillors St. (north of De Maisonneuve Blvd)
  • Dorchester Square
  • Phillips Square
  • Victoria Square
  • Concordia University (Mackay north of De Maisonneuve Blvd.)

Weekends only:

  • Mount Royal Park (near the Sir George Étienne Cartier monument)

If you are wondering about some of the trucks find descriptions of the food trucks I’ve personally visited here:

Chaud Dogs

Le Tuk Tuk

P.A. Gargantua

Fous Truck

Le Cheese Truck

Au Pied de Cochon

Landry & Filles

Gaufrabec

Saigon, Je Me Souviens

Winneburger

Follow this blog as I continue to visit the food trucks and post any updates that come my way!
