Header 2When I got the email from my son’s daycare letting me know that there would be a box for Valentine’s Day cards, I knew I wanted to do something home made and personalized.

But my son is, umm, not even two.  I knew it had to be simple, and ideally inexpensive.  And easy.

So, I rounded myself up some poster board from the local dollar store, and used some heart shape cookie cutters I picked up randomly in Target a while back for I think $2.  I traced a bunch of hearts in different sizes on two different colours of the poster board and let my son go at it with crayons.

Yes, he did eat some of the crayon.  I think he likes the crunch.

Then while half watching the Olympics I cut out all the shapes, punched holes in them, and strung them together with bakery twine.

I still have to put the “to and from” on the cards, but I think they’re cute, don’t you?

What about you?  Do you make Valentine’s Day Cards, buy them, or not even bother?
