Local Gift Guide: Kiddos!

0

Following the theme of cool stuff from amazing local artisans, I thought I’d show you some of the great kid stuff you can buy as an alternative to all… that… plastic…  I mean, don’t get me wrong – our house has a lot of colourful plastic toys from big brands that my son loves.  But for something a little more unique check out these picks!  All are from the Montreal area.

BBLALA_Parents_gars_L

T-Shirt (Translation: I still live at my parents) from bblala

This company has a lot of tongue in cheek t’s that are really fun.

angele-details_1024x1024

Angèle from raplapla

Isn’t this doll so sweet?  And even little boys like their dolls to sleep with – and this company has some great more masculine picks.

Bilingual families rejoice!  Leave it to a Montreal company to come up with a bilingual alphabet chart.

Teach them to eat their veggies with this cute little kit.  They can also pretend to cook with the wool veg!

All the classic animals are there for you to count, point out, and make animals sounds together.  It’s a nice colourful modern print.

bears

Bears by Squid-Wool

These bears are mostly for decoration, and are sturdy but the limbs can come off if heavily played with.  I still love them and the way each one has a different expression.

tee-shirtLong Sleeve t-shirt from Le Pompon

A cute little top that is great for boys or girls!

miltonThe Damian (3-6 month old) from  Milton and Gracie

I love the retro-ish colour of this knitted sweater which will last for brothers and sisters.

tente_4

Tent for Kids by Objets Mécaniques

I can just see my son playing for hours in this tent, which I imagine stores up flat against a wall or under a bed.  This company also does super cute chairs and tables for kids.

Phew!  What did I miss!  Are there any local artisans that should have been on my list?  Let me know!

What a great list of local love! I just bought the Velvet Moustache fox tail scarf for my son last week at the Salon des Metiers d’Art and he ralphed all over it in the car last night. His car seat is now facing forwards! I also picked up the best moose puppet, made in Laval:
