leche final

I finally headed down to Léché Desserts in St-Henri.  I’d been meaning to for absolute ages, but you know how things go.  I guess it just leads to a greater build up?

Leche Entrance

Just so you folks don’t drive up and down the street a bunch of times looking for this place, it’s on Courcelle south of the Home Depot BEFORE the train tracks if you are heading towards the river.  It’s not a really obvious location for this type of shop.  BUT stepping inside the shop you can see why the owner selected the space.  It’s bright, spacious and airy.

Leche Doughnuts 3 Menus

Doughnut Menu

Of course, I was there for the doughnuts but I did note that they had more than that.  I went with six including Bailey’s, pistachio, white chocolate, boston cream, apple pie and maple glazed.

The doughnuts were absolutely delicious.  I brought them to a mom get together event, and everyone went nuts.  They are light and fluffy and the flavours were wonderful.  Big faves were the maple glaze, and the white chocolate allthough I have to say they were all pretty good and I think I managed to sample most of them.

Leche Seating

This location is close enough to NDG that I wouldn’t hesitate to go there for coffee.  I can’t remember if there were steps leading up to the door (funny how you don’t notice these things without a stroller) but it was pretty stroller accessible inside with lots of room for manoeuvring.  I’d definitely head there again and hit it up before heading to any event where some type of food would be welcome – and frankly, doughnuts are always welcome!

640 De Courcelle

Montreal, QC

Decor: Open kitchen, hip industrial-ish vibe

Service: I suppose it would depend on how busy it is!  There’s one cash registrar.

Price: I paid 6 for $13 doughnuts made with care and love.  I think that’s fair.

Good For: Doughnuts to bring to work, friends, an event or your own consumption.  It would be nice for coffee too.

Baby Friendly: As far as space is concerned, yes.  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.  I don’t know about toilets/diaper change facilities.
