Excellent

Les Enfants Terribles is a beautifully designed restaurant located on trendy Bernard in Outremont.  The wood and black walls make it stand out, but the atmosphere is still friendly and there are many young families who also eat brunch here.

The place was fairly busy on a Sunday at noon, but we could wait at the bar which was great as it meant we could get our coffee, and check out the menu in time to be seated.  Reservations at brunch are only taken for groups of over 6 people.

The brunch menu is fairly traditional with a choice of eggs, omlettes, bagels, crepes etc.  In my opinion, prices are excellent, especially for this part of town.  My Forestiere Omlette came with toast, little cooked potatoes that were very well seasoned, a mini bowl of fruit and coffee (or tea) for $12.  Le Totale comes with 2 eggs, bacon or sausage, a crepe, fresh fruit, toast and coffee for $14 and managed to fill up the hungriest amongst us.

The service was excellent, and we were offered water right away.  As well, our coffee was continually topped up and our plates swiftly taken away once we were done.  The owner does a good job of working the room making sure that everyone is happy with their meal.

I was pleasantly surprised, especially as I’d heard average things about their evening meals.  I would definitely go back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Decor: Amazing
Prices: OK – so it isn’t ultra cheap but I think it is very appropriate and reasonable considering the type of restaurant and area
Service: You will wait to be seated, but on a Sunday in Montreal I think that’s goes for most places.  Service otherwise was excellent.
Food: Great and tasty.  All of us were very happy and the portions were reasonable.
Good For: Catch up with friends, or if you are a family with kids it could be very convenient to make a reservation and have a lovely brunch with your friends and their kids too as reservations are only allowed for over 6 people.
